The proposed Kazakhstan–China joint project, to be implemented at JSC Research and Production Center Phytochemistry, aims to expand pharmaceutical production and diversify the range of original medicines developed in Kazakhstan from locally sourced medicinal plant materials. The project envisages attracting Chinese investment and introducing advanced technologies for processing medicinal plant raw materials.
The implementation of this project will create new opportunities for cooperation with Chinese pharmaceutical companies, facilitate the potential registration of original Kazakhstani medicines in China, and open up prospects for the use of innovative herbal medicines developed in Kazakhstan within traditional Chinese medicine.

Key factors supporting this initiative include the local availability of medicinal plant resources and the need to reduce dependence on imports. Achieving these objectives requires the introduction of innovative technologies for the extraction and processing of medicinal plant materials, which will help reduce production costs and improve product quality.
The combination of advanced technologies provided by the Chinese partners and locally sourced medicinal plant materials for the production of original herbal medicines is expected to enhance their competitiveness in both domestic and international markets, while improving their availability and helping to address existing shortages.
As a result of the visit, a Protocol of Intent on Joint Cooperation was signed between JSC Research and Production Center Phytochemistry (Karaganda, Republic of Kazakhstan) and Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group (People’s Republic of China).
